Kuna meie kursuse nimetus on siiski rahvusvaheline kommunikatsiooni juhtimine, siis uute seiklusjanuliste õpilaste meelitamiseks pakutakse välja võimalust minna vahetusõpilaseks. Antud võimalus on pigem suunatud Hollandi tudengitele, kuid enamus vahetusse minejad on siiski välismaalased.
4. Vahetusprogrammi koolide tase: Ok, mõned on päris normaalsed ülikoolid, mida pakutakse, aga osade kohta on väga raske mingisugust informatsiooni leida. Jääb mulje, et nimekirja on lihtsalt üritatud pikemaks venitada
5. Mulle meeldib mu elu Hollandis.
6. Ma peaks uue keskkonnaga harjuma
7. Üldiselt oleksin pidanud endale uue kodu ise leidma (see olenes sihtkohast), kuid siiani on kodu leidmised võrdlemisi keerulised ja tüütud ülesanded olnud. Kolimine üleüldse on tüütu!
8. Vahetusõpilaste elu tundub keerlevat peamiselt ümber pidutsemise, vähemalt selline mulje on mul jäänud nendest, kes siia tulnud. Seega õppimise osa pealt tundub Hollandisse jäämine isegi targem otsus. Kuid see punkt on kindlasti vaieldav
9. Kõige olulisem põhjus... Mul puudub see sisemine tunne, et ma tahan (uuesti) välismaale minna. Mul peaks olema see kirg, see tunne et antud sihtkoht mind kutsub uute seiklustega... Aga ei. Mul pole midagi. Eks osad sihtkohad tunduvad huvitavad muidugi, kuid midagi jääb puudu. Seega hetkel on tõenäoliselt Hollandisse jäämine parim
9 reasons why I didn't go for exchange (yep, I had an opportunity to go even further from the NL)
Because our study is named International Communication Management then of course they are attracting as many adventurous students by offering a possibility to study abroad. The opportunity is rather meant for Dutch students, however most of the students going abroad are non-Dutch. This very appealing offer to fly either to Asia or America loses its sparkle when the concrete destinations and the universities are researched more in depth. The student who wishes to spend one semester abroad has to receive 80 credits within the first year and 30 credits in the beginning of second year. But with no longer introduction, I present you: 9 reasons why Elle-Mari decided to stay in the Netherlands and not to travel somewhere far - far away.
1. I would feel very tall everywhere else
2. Cause my first choice would have been to go somewhere towards Asia, for example South-Korea, then I would feel extremely tall and in the center of attention constantly
3. Financial part. The exchange students need to cover the cost of the flight, living, foods-drinks, parties and other sort of traveling. Moreover, I should pay rent for the place I have here in The Hague- if I am not able to rent it out. Anyway, because I am mostly still relying on my parents then sadly this makes it even more complicated
4. The level of the exchange universities: Ok, some unis on offer are pretty alright, but some of them don't have any information available online. In some cases it seems that they have tried to make the list of possible exchange locations as long as possible without much of effort
5. I like my life in the Netherlands. I have really nice flat and nice flatmate and I just like it here. Well yes, the "first year excitement" has ended and I am not going out as much as I used to, but it is good here
6. I should get used to the new environment. Again
7. Generally, I would have had to find a new place to live on my own (it also depends on the location), but so far finding a living place has been really difficult experience. Moving is really annoying!
8. The life of exchange students seem to be around attending as many parties as possible. At least this is the opinion I have gained about exchange students who have came to study in The Hague. So for studying, my uni might be even wiser choice
9. The most important reason... I don't have the inner urge that I want to go abroad (again). I should have this passion and feeling that some specific country is "calling" me... but no. I don't have anything. I must admit that some locations do seem attractive but there is something missing. So I think currently, staying in the NL, is the best choice
So these were the main reasons. Of course I could come up with thousands of reasons why to GO, but currently my inner feeling is stopping me. None of the destinations seem truly attractive (though studying in Canada or South-Korea sounds awesome...). Anyway, at the moment I am staying here. Maybe when I look for an internship, I might go abroad - again. We will see.
PARIMAT
